Course Description:

This course is an introduction to Watercolor and the various ways it can be used as a creative tool for drawing and aesthetic purposes. Students will expand their skills in compositional design through the study and practice of color and shading by learning principles of line, shape, texture, color, space and balance.

In the class you will be producing a preconceived geometric still life where you will gain a basic understanding of creating illusionistic depth in a watercolor painting. The necessary tools will be provided, and you will be taught how to use them properly so that you can take these skills back home with you.

The goals for the course are that you will produce a single watercolor still life, learn techniques and skills you didn’t know you could accomplish and most importantly have fun.
